Today was a Heart Wrenching Day!!!Shawn Alladio and I headed out to Camp Pendleton This Morning at 0-700 Hours .. lol.. Marine time !!!
We meet up with Mike Arnold and PIRATE at the Base, We Picked up the Skis from the Hide out and Started Getting Ready for an Amazing Day of Training, I got all of my Video Gear Ready as Shawn and the Men were Getting all the Ski's Ready for the Day. Mark Gerner and Warren Came Cruising up from Dana Point on there Skis.
Erica Is on of the Trainee's That Shawn is Training to Race the Dana Point to Ocean Side and Back Offshore Endurance Race, Theres a Twist to this Training though. Erica is Paraplegic, so she has no Movement in her body from her chest down, Shawn and Mike Created a Custom Set up for her to help her support herself on the Ski Going 50 MPH through the Rough Chop.
Erica is an Amazing athlete, She races Triathlons and Pushs her self Hard, Its Was an amazing thing today seeing her train today to become the next BEST PWC offshore Endurance Racer!!!
Jen is an Amazing Women with Lots of Heart, She was in a Cheer Leading Accident 10 years ago and Broke her neck. She is now Quadriplegic. Jen Came out and Concurred The Jet Ski, With the Help of Mark, Mike and Pirate to get her on the Rescue Board and Of course Ryan for Riding with jen on the Board She is one of the first Quadriplegic to hit the open Ocean on a Jet ski, Jen Grew up Riding Stand up Jet Skis with her Brother.
Today was an Eye opener for me.
These Women have Heart and they are going to Do what they want to do, No matter what it takes. and Thank God SHAWN ALLADIO is there to Make there Dreams come true.
